The short version
ByeJunk collects no data. Your photos, videos, contacts and files are checked on your device and never leave it. No account, no analytics, no ads, no tracking.
Photos and videos
ByeJunk asks for access to your photo library to find duplicates, similar photos, blurry shots, screenshots and large videos. All of this runs on your device. Nothing is uploaded to us or to anyone else.
ByeJunk deletes items only after you choose them, and your device asks you to confirm. Deleted items go to Recently Deleted in Photos, where you can still recover them for a while.
To make later scans faster, ByeJunk keeps small fingerprints of your photos (not the photos themselves) on your device. They are removed when you delete the app.
Compressed videos
When you compress a video, ByeJunk saves the smaller copy to your library and to an album called "ByeJunk", and keeps a list of these copies on your device so you can find them again. The original stays until you choose to delete it.
If you tap Share, the video goes only where you send it, through your device's share sheet.
Contacts
If you allow it, ByeJunk reads your contacts on your device to find duplicates and empty entries. Contacts are merged or deleted only when you choose to. Nothing is uploaded.
Files on your Mac
On Mac, you can give ByeJunk access to your Home folder so it can measure caches, build files, old simulators and large files. It only reads names and sizes to show you what takes space, and removes only what you choose. Many items go to the Trash, so you can put them back. Nothing is uploaded.
Stored on your device
ByeJunk keeps a few settings on your device: your Appearance choice, which photos you have already swiped through, your cleaning stats and the list of compressed videos. They never leave your device and are removed with the app.
Purchases
ByeJunk is free during early access. If paid features are added later, purchases are handled by Apple. We never receive your name, email or payment details.
Analytics, ads and tracking
ByeJunk has no analytics, no advertising and no tracking of any kind, and shares nothing with third parties.
Feedback
If you email us, we receive your email address and what you write, and use them only to reply. We do not add you to any list.
Children
ByeJunk does not collect data from anyone, including children.
Changes and contact
If this policy changes, the new version will be posted on this page with a new date.
